How To Uninstall rng-tools On Debian 9

To uninstall rng-tools just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just rng-tools

Daemon to use a Hardware TRNGDebian 9.0utils2-unofficial-mt.14-1+b2
sudo apt-get remove rng-tools

This will remove just the rng-tools package itself.

Uninstall rng-tools and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove rng-tools

This will remove the rng-tools package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for rng-tools then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge rng-tools

Or similarly, like this rng-tools

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove rng-tools
