How To Uninstall rpm On Debian 9

To uninstall rpm just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just rpm

package manager for RPMDebian 9.0admin4.12.0.2+dfsg1-2
sudo apt-get remove rpm

This will remove just the rpm package itself.

Uninstall rpm and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove rpm

This will remove the rpm package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for rpm then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge rpm

Or similarly, like this rpm

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove rpm
