How To Uninstall rsyslog-elasticsearch On Debian 9

To uninstall rsyslog-elasticsearch just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just rsyslog-elasticsearch

Elasticsearch output plugin for rsyslogDebian 9.0admin8.24.0-1
sudo apt-get remove rsyslog-elasticsearch

This will remove just the rsyslog-elasticsearch package itself.

Uninstall rsyslog-elasticsearch and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove rsyslog-elasticsearch

This will remove the rsyslog-elasticsearch package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for rsyslog-elasticsearch then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge rsyslog-elasticsearch

Or similarly, like this rsyslog-elasticsearch

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove rsyslog-elasticsearch
