How To Uninstall ruby-backports On Debian 9

To uninstall ruby-backports just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just ruby-backports

backports of new features for older versions of RubyDebian 9.0ruby3.6.8-1
sudo apt-get remove ruby-backports

This will remove just the ruby-backports package itself.

Uninstall ruby-backports and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove ruby-backports

This will remove the ruby-backports package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for ruby-backports then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge ruby-backports

Or similarly, like this ruby-backports

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove ruby-backports
