How To Uninstall ruby-bcrypt On Debian 9

To uninstall ruby-bcrypt just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just ruby-bcrypt

Ruby binding for the bcrypt() password hashing algorithmDebian 9.0ruby3.1.11-1
sudo apt-get remove ruby-bcrypt

This will remove just the ruby-bcrypt package itself.

Uninstall ruby-bcrypt and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove ruby-bcrypt

This will remove the ruby-bcrypt package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for ruby-bcrypt then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge ruby-bcrypt

Or similarly, like this ruby-bcrypt

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove ruby-bcrypt
