How To Uninstall ruby-byebug On Debian 9

To uninstall ruby-byebug just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just ruby-byebug

Ruby 2.0 fast debugger - base + CLIDebian 9.0ruby5.0.0-1+b3
sudo apt-get remove ruby-byebug

This will remove just the ruby-byebug package itself.

Uninstall ruby-byebug and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove ruby-byebug

This will remove the ruby-byebug package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for ruby-byebug then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge ruby-byebug

Or similarly, like this ruby-byebug

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove ruby-byebug
