How To Uninstall ruby-elasticsearch On Debian 9

To uninstall ruby-elasticsearch just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just ruby-elasticsearch

Ruby client for connecting to an Elasticsearch clusterDebian 9.0ruby1.0.12-1
sudo apt-get remove ruby-elasticsearch

This will remove just the ruby-elasticsearch package itself.

Uninstall ruby-elasticsearch and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove ruby-elasticsearch

This will remove the ruby-elasticsearch package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for ruby-elasticsearch then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge ruby-elasticsearch

Or similarly, like this ruby-elasticsearch

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove ruby-elasticsearch
