How To Uninstall ruby-ferret On Debian 9

To uninstall ruby-ferret just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just ruby-ferret

full text search engine library for RubyDebian 9.0ruby0.11.8.6-2
sudo apt-get remove ruby-ferret

This will remove just the ruby-ferret package itself.

Uninstall ruby-ferret and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove ruby-ferret

This will remove the ruby-ferret package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for ruby-ferret then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge ruby-ferret

Or similarly, like this ruby-ferret

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove ruby-ferret
