How To Uninstall ruby-file-tail On Debian 9

To uninstall ruby-file-tail just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just ruby-file-tail

Ruby library for following still-growing filesDebian 9.0ruby1.1.1-2
sudo apt-get remove ruby-file-tail

This will remove just the ruby-file-tail package itself.

Uninstall ruby-file-tail and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove ruby-file-tail

This will remove the ruby-file-tail package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for ruby-file-tail then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge ruby-file-tail

Or similarly, like this ruby-file-tail

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove ruby-file-tail
