How To Uninstall ruby-guestfs On Debian 9

To uninstall ruby-guestfs just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just ruby-guestfs

guest disk image management system - Ruby bindingsDebian 9.0ruby1:1.34.6-2
sudo apt-get remove ruby-guestfs

This will remove just the ruby-guestfs package itself.

Uninstall ruby-guestfs and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove ruby-guestfs

This will remove the ruby-guestfs package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for ruby-guestfs then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge ruby-guestfs

Or similarly, like this ruby-guestfs

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove ruby-guestfs
