How To Uninstall ruby-hivex On Debian 9

To uninstall ruby-hivex just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just ruby-hivex

Ruby bindings for hivexDebian 9.0ruby1.3.13-2+b2
sudo apt-get remove ruby-hivex

This will remove just the ruby-hivex package itself.

Uninstall ruby-hivex and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove ruby-hivex

This will remove the ruby-hivex package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for ruby-hivex then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge ruby-hivex

Or similarly, like this ruby-hivex

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove ruby-hivex
