How To Uninstall ruby-levenshtein On Debian 9

To uninstall ruby-levenshtein just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just ruby-levenshtein

calculates the Levenshtein distance between two sequencesDebian 9.0ruby0.2.2-2+b7
sudo apt-get remove ruby-levenshtein

This will remove just the ruby-levenshtein package itself.

Uninstall ruby-levenshtein and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove ruby-levenshtein

This will remove the ruby-levenshtein package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for ruby-levenshtein then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge ruby-levenshtein

Or similarly, like this ruby-levenshtein

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove ruby-levenshtein
