How To Uninstall ruby-mpi On Debian 9

To uninstall ruby-mpi just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just ruby-mpi

Ruby binding of MPIDebian 9.0ruby0.3.0-1+b6
sudo apt-get remove ruby-mpi

This will remove just the ruby-mpi package itself.

Uninstall ruby-mpi and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove ruby-mpi

This will remove the ruby-mpi package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for ruby-mpi then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge ruby-mpi

Or similarly, like this ruby-mpi

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove ruby-mpi
