How To Uninstall ruby-net-sftp On Debian 9

To uninstall ruby-net-sftp just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just ruby-net-sftp

Ruby implementation of the SFTP protocolDebian 9.0ruby1:2.1.2-3
sudo apt-get remove ruby-net-sftp

This will remove just the ruby-net-sftp package itself.

Uninstall ruby-net-sftp and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove ruby-net-sftp

This will remove the ruby-net-sftp package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for ruby-net-sftp then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge ruby-net-sftp

Or similarly, like this ruby-net-sftp

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove ruby-net-sftp
