How To Uninstall ruby-notmuch On Debian 9

To uninstall ruby-notmuch just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just ruby-notmuch

Ruby interface to the notmuch mail search and index libraryDebian 9.0ruby0.23.7-3
sudo apt-get remove ruby-notmuch

This will remove just the ruby-notmuch package itself.

Uninstall ruby-notmuch and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove ruby-notmuch

This will remove the ruby-notmuch package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for ruby-notmuch then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge ruby-notmuch

Or similarly, like this ruby-notmuch

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove ruby-notmuch
