How To Uninstall ruby-passenger On Debian 9

To uninstall ruby-passenger just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just ruby-passenger

transitional dummy package for passengerDebian 9.0ruby5.0.30-1
sudo apt-get remove ruby-passenger

This will remove just the ruby-passenger package itself.

Uninstall ruby-passenger and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove ruby-passenger

This will remove the ruby-passenger package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for ruby-passenger then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge ruby-passenger

Or similarly, like this ruby-passenger

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove ruby-passenger
