How To Uninstall ruby-pg On Debian 9

To uninstall ruby-pg just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just ruby-pg

PostgreSQL interface for RubyDebian 9.0ruby0.18.4-2
sudo apt-get remove ruby-pg

This will remove just the ruby-pg package itself.

Uninstall ruby-pg and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove ruby-pg

This will remove the ruby-pg package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for ruby-pg then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge ruby-pg

Or similarly, like this ruby-pg

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove ruby-pg
