To uninstall ruby-rack-protection just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just ruby-rack-protection

Protects against typical web attacks for Rack appsDebian 9.0ruby1.5.3-2
sudo apt-get remove ruby-rack-protection

This will remove just the ruby-rack-protection package itself.

Uninstall ruby-rack-protection and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove ruby-rack-protection

This will remove the ruby-rack-protection package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for ruby-rack-protection then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge ruby-rack-protection

Or similarly, like this ruby-rack-protection

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove ruby-rack-protection
