How To Uninstall ruby-rb-inotify On Debian 9

To uninstall ruby-rb-inotify just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just ruby-rb-inotify

A Ruby wrapper for Linux's inotify, using FFIDebian 9.0ruby0.9.7-1
sudo apt-get remove ruby-rb-inotify

This will remove just the ruby-rb-inotify package itself.

Uninstall ruby-rb-inotify and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove ruby-rb-inotify

This will remove the ruby-rb-inotify package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for ruby-rb-inotify then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge ruby-rb-inotify

Or similarly, like this ruby-rb-inotify

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove ruby-rb-inotify
