How To Uninstall ruby-re2 On Debian 9

To uninstall ruby-re2 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just ruby-re2

Ruby bindings to re2Debian 9.0ruby0.7.0-2+b1
sudo apt-get remove ruby-re2

This will remove just the ruby-re2 package itself.

Uninstall ruby-re2 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove ruby-re2

This will remove the ruby-re2 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for ruby-re2 then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge ruby-re2

Or similarly, like this ruby-re2

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove ruby-re2
