How To Uninstall velocity On Debian 9

To uninstall velocity just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just velocity

Java-based template engine for web applicationDebian 9.0java1.7-5
sudo apt-get remove velocity

This will remove just the velocity package itself.

Uninstall velocity and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove velocity

This will remove the velocity package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for velocity then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge velocity

Or similarly, like this velocity

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove velocity
