How To Uninstall velvet On Debian 9

To uninstall velvet just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just velvet

Nucleic acid sequence assembler for very short readsDebian 9.0science1.2.10+dfsg1-3+b1
sudo apt-get remove velvet

This will remove just the velvet package itself.

Uninstall velvet and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove velvet

This will remove the velvet package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for velvet then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge velvet

Or similarly, like this velvet

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove velvet
