How To Uninstall xbmc On Debian 9

To uninstall xbmc just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just xbmc

transitional dummy packageDebian 9.0video2:17.1+dfsg1-3
sudo apt-get remove xbmc

This will remove just the xbmc package itself.

Uninstall xbmc and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove xbmc

This will remove the xbmc package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for xbmc then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge xbmc

Or similarly, like this xbmc

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove xbmc
