How To Uninstall xcompmgr On Debian 9

To uninstall xcompmgr just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just xcompmgr

linuxX composition managerx111.1.7-1+b1
sudo apt-get remove xcompmgr

This will remove just the xcompmgr package itself.

Uninstall xcompmgr and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove xcompmgr

This will remove the xcompmgr package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for xcompmgr then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge xcompmgr

Or similarly, like this xcompmgr

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove xcompmgr
