How To Uninstall xfdesktop4-data On Debian 9

To uninstall xfdesktop4-data just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just xfdesktop4-data

xfce desktop background, icons and root menu (common files)Debian 9.0xfce4.12.3-3
sudo apt-get remove xfdesktop4-data

This will remove just the xfdesktop4-data package itself.

Uninstall xfdesktop4-data and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove xfdesktop4-data

This will remove the xfdesktop4-data package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for xfdesktop4-data then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge xfdesktop4-data

Or similarly, like this xfdesktop4-data

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove xfdesktop4-data
