How To Uninstall xsel On Debian 9

To uninstall xsel just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just xsel

command-line tool to access X clipboard and selection buffersDebian 9.0x111.2.0-2+b1
sudo apt-get remove xsel

This will remove just the xsel package itself.

Uninstall xsel and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove xsel

This will remove the xsel package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for xsel then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge xsel

Or similarly, like this xsel

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove xsel
