How To Uninstall xserver-common On Debian 9

To uninstall xserver-common just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just xserver-common

linuxcommon files used by various X serversx112:1.19.2-1
sudo apt-get remove xserver-common

This will remove just the xserver-common package itself.

Uninstall xserver-common and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove xserver-common

This will remove the xserver-common package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for xserver-common then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge xserver-common

Or similarly, like this xserver-common

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove xserver-common
