How To Uninstall xzip On Debian 9

To uninstall xzip just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just xzip

Interpreter of Infocom-format story-filesDebian 9.0games1:1.8.2-4+b1
sudo apt-get remove xzip

This will remove just the xzip package itself.

Uninstall xzip and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove xzip

This will remove the xzip package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for xzip then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge xzip

Or similarly, like this xzip

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove xzip
