How To Uninstall amd64-microcode On Debian 9

To uninstall amd64-microcode just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just amd64-microcode

Processor microcode firmware for AMD CPUsDebian 9.0non-free/admin3.20160316.3
sudo apt-get remove amd64-microcode

This will remove just the amd64-microcode package itself.

Uninstall amd64-microcode and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove amd64-microcode

This will remove the amd64-microcode package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for amd64-microcode then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge amd64-microcode

Or similarly, like this amd64-microcode

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove amd64-microcode
