How To Uninstall firmware-ipw2x00 On Debian 9

To uninstall firmware-ipw2x00 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just firmware-ipw2x00

Binary firmware for Intel Pro Wireless 2100, 2200 and 2915Debian 9.0non-free/kernel20161130-3
sudo apt-get remove firmware-ipw2x00

This will remove just the firmware-ipw2x00 package itself.

Uninstall firmware-ipw2x00 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove firmware-ipw2x00

This will remove the firmware-ipw2x00 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for firmware-ipw2x00 then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge firmware-ipw2x00

Or similarly, like this firmware-ipw2x00

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove firmware-ipw2x00
