How To Uninstall firmware-ivtv On Debian 9

To uninstall firmware-ivtv just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just firmware-ivtv

Binary firmware for iTVC15-family MPEG codecs (ivtv and pvrusb2 drivers)Debian 9.0non-free/kernel20161130-3
sudo apt-get remove firmware-ivtv

This will remove just the firmware-ivtv package itself.

Uninstall firmware-ivtv and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove firmware-ivtv

This will remove the firmware-ivtv package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for firmware-ivtv then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge firmware-ivtv

Or similarly, like this firmware-ivtv

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove firmware-ivtv
