To uninstall firmware-linux-nonfree just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just firmware-linux-nonfree

sudo apt-get remove firmware-linux-nonfree

This will remove just the firmware-linux-nonfree package itself.

Uninstall firmware-linux-nonfree and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove firmware-linux-nonfree

This will remove the firmware-linux-nonfree package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for firmware-linux-nonfree then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge firmware-linux-nonfree
