How To Uninstall xserver-xorg-video-nvidia On Debian 9

To uninstall xserver-xorg-video-nvidia just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just xserver-xorg-video-nvidia

linuxNVIDIA binary Xorg drivernon-free/x11375.66-1
sudo apt-get remove xserver-xorg-video-nvidia

This will remove just the xserver-xorg-video-nvidia package itself.

Uninstall xserver-xorg-video-nvidia and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove xserver-xorg-video-nvidia

This will remove the xserver-xorg-video-nvidia package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for xserver-xorg-video-nvidia then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge xserver-xorg-video-nvidia

Or similarly, like this xserver-xorg-video-nvidia

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove xserver-xorg-video-nvidia
