How To Uninstall fgetty On Debian 7

To uninstall fgetty just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just fgetty

very small, efficient, console-only getty and loginDebian 7.0admin0.6-5
sudo apt-get remove fgetty

This will remove just the fgetty package itself.

Uninstall fgetty and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove fgetty

This will remove the fgetty package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for fgetty then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge fgetty

Or similarly, like this fgetty

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove fgetty
