How To Uninstall iamerican On Debian 7

To uninstall iamerican just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just iamerican

American English dictionary for ispell (standard version)Debian 7.0text3.3.02-6
sudo apt-get remove iamerican

This will remove just the iamerican package itself.

Uninstall iamerican and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove iamerican

This will remove the iamerican package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for iamerican then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge iamerican

Or similarly, like this iamerican

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove iamerican
