How To Uninstall jed On Debian 7

To uninstall jed just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just jed

editor for programmers (textmode version)Debian 7.0editors1:0.99.19-2.1
sudo apt-get remove jed

This will remove just the jed package itself.

Uninstall jed and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove jed

This will remove the jed package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for jed then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge jed

Or similarly, like this jed

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove jed
