How To Uninstall jetty On Debian 7

To uninstall jetty just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just jetty

Java servlet engine and webserverDebian 7.0java6.1.26-1
sudo apt-get remove jetty

This will remove just the jetty package itself.

Uninstall jetty and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove jetty

This will remove the jetty package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for jetty then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge jetty

Or similarly, like this jetty

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove jetty
