How To Uninstall jetty8 On Debian 7

To uninstall jetty8 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just jetty8

Java servlet engine and webserverDebian 7.0java8.1.3-4
sudo apt-get remove jetty8

This will remove just the jetty8 package itself.

Uninstall jetty8 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove jetty8

This will remove the jetty8 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for jetty8 then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge jetty8

Or similarly, like this jetty8

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove jetty8
