How To Uninstall john On Debian 7

To uninstall john just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just john

active password cracking toolDebian 7.0admin1.7.8-1
sudo apt-get remove john

This will remove just the john package itself.

Uninstall john and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove john

This will remove the john package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for john then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge john

Or similarly, like this john

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove john
