How To Uninstall jruby On Debian 7

To uninstall jruby just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just jruby

100% pure-Java implementation of RubyDebian 7.0ruby1.5.6-5
sudo apt-get remove jruby

This will remove just the jruby package itself.

Uninstall jruby and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove jruby

This will remove the jruby package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for jruby then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge jruby

Or similarly, like this jruby

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove jruby
