How To Uninstall jython On Debian 7

To uninstall jython just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just jython

Python seamlessly integrated with JavaDebian 7.0python2.5.2-1
sudo apt-get remove jython

This will remove just the jython package itself.

Uninstall jython and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove jython

This will remove the jython package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for jython then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge jython

Or similarly, like this jython

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove jython
