How To Uninstall libcxxtools8 On Debian 7

To uninstall libcxxtools8 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libcxxtools8

library of unrelated but useful C++ classesDebian 7.0libs2.1.1-1
sudo apt-get remove libcxxtools8

This will remove just the libcxxtools8 package itself.

Uninstall libcxxtools8 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libcxxtools8

This will remove the libcxxtools8 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libcxxtools8 then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libcxxtools8

Or similarly, like this libcxxtools8

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libcxxtools8
