How To Uninstall libdb-java-dev On Debian 7

To uninstall libdb-java-dev just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libdb-java-dev

Berkeley Database Libraries for Java [development]Debian 7.0libdevel5.1.6
sudo apt-get remove libdb-java-dev

This will remove just the libdb-java-dev package itself.

Uninstall libdb-java-dev and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libdb-java-dev

This will remove the libdb-java-dev package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libdb-java-dev then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libdb-java-dev

Or similarly, like this libdb-java-dev

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libdb-java-dev
