How To Uninstall libdb5.1-java-gcj On Debian 7

To uninstall libdb5.1-java-gcj just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libdb5.1-java-gcj

Berkeley v5.1 Database Libraries for Java (native code)Debian 7.0java5.1.29-5
sudo apt-get remove libdb5.1-java-gcj

This will remove just the libdb5.1-java-gcj package itself.

Uninstall libdb5.1-java-gcj and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libdb5.1-java-gcj

This will remove the libdb5.1-java-gcj package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libdb5.1-java-gcj then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libdb5.1-java-gcj

Or similarly, like this libdb5.1-java-gcj

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libdb5.1-java-gcj
