How To Uninstall libdb5.1-sql-dev On Debian 7

To uninstall libdb5.1-sql-dev just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libdb5.1-sql-dev

Berkeley v5.1 Database Libraries [SQL development]Debian 7.0libdevel5.1.29-5
sudo apt-get remove libdb5.1-sql-dev

This will remove just the libdb5.1-sql-dev package itself.

Uninstall libdb5.1-sql-dev and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libdb5.1-sql-dev

This will remove the libdb5.1-sql-dev package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libdb5.1-sql-dev then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libdb5.1-sql-dev

Or similarly, like this libdb5.1-sql-dev

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libdb5.1-sql-dev
