How To Uninstall libgdal-ruby On Debian 7

To uninstall libgdal-ruby just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libgdal-ruby

Ruby bindings to the Geospatial Data Abstraction LibraryDebian 7.0ruby1.9.0-3.1
sudo apt-get remove libgdal-ruby

This will remove just the libgdal-ruby package itself.

Uninstall libgdal-ruby and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libgdal-ruby

This will remove the libgdal-ruby package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libgdal-ruby then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libgdal-ruby

Or similarly, like this libgdal-ruby

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libgdal-ruby
