How To Uninstall libjpeg8 On Debian 7

To uninstall libjpeg8 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libjpeg8

Independent JPEG Group's JPEG runtime libraryDebian 7.0libs8d-1+deb7u1
sudo apt-get remove libjpeg8

This will remove just the libjpeg8 package itself.

Uninstall libjpeg8 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libjpeg8

This will remove the libjpeg8 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libjpeg8 then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libjpeg8

Or similarly, like this libjpeg8

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libjpeg8
