How To Uninstall libsidl-1.4.0 On Debian 7

To uninstall libsidl-1.4.0 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libsidl-1.4.0

Scientific Interface Definition Language (SIDL) C(++)/FORTRAN runtimeDebian 7.0libs1.4.0.dfsg-8.1
sudo apt-get remove libsidl-1.4.0

This will remove just the libsidl-1.4.0 package itself.

Uninstall libsidl-1.4.0 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libsidl-1.4.0

This will remove the libsidl-1.4.0 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libsidl-1.4.0 then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libsidl-1.4.0

Or similarly, like this libsidl-1.4.0

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libsidl-1.4.0
