How To Uninstall tcl-tclreadline On Debian 7

To uninstall tcl-tclreadline just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just tcl-tclreadline

GNU Readline Extension for Tcl/TkDebian 7.0interpreters2.1.0-12
sudo apt-get remove tcl-tclreadline

This will remove just the tcl-tclreadline package itself.

Uninstall tcl-tclreadline and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove tcl-tclreadline

This will remove the tcl-tclreadline package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for tcl-tclreadline then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge tcl-tclreadline

Or similarly, like this tcl-tclreadline

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove tcl-tclreadline
