How To Uninstall tcl On Debian 7

To uninstall tcl just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just tcl

The Tool Command Language (default version) - run-time filesDebian 7.0interpreters8.5.0-2.1
sudo apt-get remove tcl

This will remove just the tcl package itself.

Uninstall tcl and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove tcl

This will remove the tcl package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for tcl then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge tcl

Or similarly, like this tcl

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove tcl
